Pre-inauguration, a bunch of memecoins were launched, but in no time TRUMP and MELANIA quickly sprung up to become the 3rd and 8th largest memes. The former managed to overshadow the likes of Pepe, Bonk, and Fartcoin on the rankings front, while the latter flipped ai16z and Mog.
One guy got in early and eventually cashed out MELANIA, making a total profit of $42.7 million [62x ROI].
It ain’t all sunshine and rainbows, though.

Ross tastes freedom after 11 whole years
One of Trump’s campaign promises was to free Ross. Man delivered his word by pardoning the sentence of the founder of the Silk Road.
Backstory: In 2015, Ross was convicted for having criminal ties and distributing narcotics, along with a host of other related crimes. All this was done via the darknet Silk Road marketplace operations. He was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole, but voila, he’s out now, and everyone’s celebrating.
Meme ETFs
Memecoin ETF filings have been yet another highlight of this week. Osprey Funds and Rex Shares have filed for a bunch of ETFs — ETH, BTC, and SOL — but DOGE, BONK and TRUMP stand out, of course.
They'll likely comprise a combo of derivatives, while a Cayman subsidiary is expected to hold the assets. Interestingly, Bitwise has also submitted another filing for a DOGE ETF.
