😡 Privacy is Under Attack, Again

🗞 Market commentary.

GM, we're back again. 

Once more, exuberant bullishness quickly shifted to bearish hopes of scooping up Bitcoin at lower prices. Unfortunately for both, Bitcoin is just continuing its choppy season, and until we start closing below last week's lows, all is good in the hood. It’s hard to feel bearish especially when Hong Kong is set to jump into the spot Bitcoin ETF game starting April 30th.

However, what’s not so good is the continual attack of US authorities on the fundamental right to privacy. Just yesterday, the DOJ arrested the co-founders of the now quite legendary Samourai wallet, charging them with money laundering. Following the crackdown on Tornado developers, this marks another blatant attack on innocent software providers.

On a brighter note, we’ve got news that the legendary 'Buy Bitcoin' sign from Janet Yellen's 2017 speech has just sold for $1 million. I’m starting a countdown until the buyer turns it into a fractionalized NFT token, and we can all ape in.

BNB/BTC 1D Log Chart

$BNB has been super strong for a major coin ever since the CZ overhang was resolved (he quit) in late November last year. The $BTC pair is interesting—it looks possible, likely even, that it will outperform $BTC for the foreseeable future, provided we get a weekly close above the point of control (red line above). The momentum is strong, and it seems likely we will. Whether BTC/USD chops up or down, the BNB/BTC chart has been going up. 

Coinbase stock is likely a BNB comp on some level, although it has growth-stonk meta exposure. Nevertheless, if BNB does well, look for COIN to outperform, too. I think future Base revenue is currently being discounted (ignored) by Wall Street.

One thing I like about BNB vs. COIN is Binance’s aggressive onramping of the developing world with affiliate campaigns and way easier KYC than Coinbase. This is something Coinbase has not been good at, and will likely miss out on a huge cohort of users.
