“Couple of guys who went short, those poor bastards, I mean, they’re in big trouble, they’re being wiped out.” President Trump.
And indeed in trouble they are! Just after yesterday evening's fresh timeline drama, frantically discussing Saylor’s Strategy of “buying high and selling low” (this tweet captures the essence perfectly), we’ve seen over $100 million in shorts liquidated, with over $300 million on both sides over the past 24-hour period. Mayhem.
First, there was a dump back towards $61K on the back of Saylor news punishing late longs, then a rapid pump shortly after, once news of the US finally moving towards creating the Bitcoin Reserve came out.
This is why focusing on one static factor seems like a better idea to me, especially during this market period: our line in the sand, which is simply around $60K, still holds. Honestly, yesterday’s commentary point now holds even more true: bears are still unable to push BTC lower, even when the market wrestles with what many consider narrative-shattering news (“OMG Saylor is selling”).
Now, of course, the question is - will Saylor’s selling prolong the bear market and push BTC price lower eventually, or was this a sign from the market that this scenario could be “priced in”, or at least well absorbed? I mean, yesterday’s reaction was quite telling. Curious to see how it holds up over the summer.
Anyways, from a technical view, we still have a very nice bullish divergence forming on the weekly for BTC, and overall it just feels like the bears aren’t getting anywhere here. Let’s see. As we said multiple times, the macro bottom isn’t confirmed just yet, but the evidence is growing by the day.

HyperEVM looks good here: 1 new favorite pick.
Looking at the absolutely crazy dominance of Hyperliquid this year, I can’t help but think the whole HyperEVM chain ecosystem blows up higher as well, eventually. Possible HyperEVM airdrop speculations aside (even a 1% airdrop would be crazy at these valuations, I recommend you run the math), I like what’s currently happening here even though attention is mostly elsewhere.
The chain is enjoying a steady $1.5 billion in TVL, a level sustained since January this year. This seems like a solid floor to me and a possible jumping-off point for higher levels in the future, as we enter the next cycle sooner or later.
Now that our minds can comprehend the moon math ($10 billy here we come), let’s speculate a little on today’s pick.
Nest Exchange
NEST is currently trading at a 75% discount to its all-time high, which is why I think it’s a solid time to feature it at a mere $2.8 million market cap.
The Nest team decided it’s time to create a proper ve3,3 DEX, following Hyperliquid's ethos: 100% of swap fees go directly to veNEST lockers, meaning Nest is now around #13 in protocol by 30-day holder revenue. To put this into perspective, it makes Nest better than Sky, Curve, Pendle, or Convex on this metric alone as of about three weeks ago.
Nest Q2 2026 Report: “A protocol with a circulating market cap under $6M is outpaying protocols worth billions.”
Except already exceptional volume and liquidity providing LPs a great place to park HyperEVM assets and classics such as BTC, ETH, or USDC paired with HYPE, the main differentiator here is the Hype Engine Vault: HEV.
HEV is made exactly for long-term thinking HYPE heads: 30% of all Nest Exchange fees are used to buy HYPE, which is then redistributed to all new veNEST lockers. Last week, the HYPE bonus accounted for 35% “cashback” on users’ new locks - in the form of HYPE. This makes the offering very different from other ve3,3 DEXs: HYPE is arguably one of the most desired long-term holds in all of crypto right now. Finally, autocompounded veNEST also counts as a new lock and currently gets a 2x HYPE bonus.
Now, all of the above-mentioned growth and revenue for users were achieved during a period when HyperEVM TVL basically stayed flat (as mentioned above), which makes me think there’s a lot of potential for value capture (think Aerodrome type of growth) going forward if we enter another cycle and see TVL multiply from here.
