To start, we will repeat the same message as we did by the end of the year: this isn’t a time to get overly bearish. 

Bitcoin has been flirting with a $90K breakdown over the past few weeks, but the bears are left disappointed yet again. The real question now: when will BTC break through the $100K mark? My guess? Soon—maybe even by the end of this week. And when it does, hold onto your hats. Update: yep, it just happened. Strap in.

Historically, the first quarter has been kind to ETH bulls. Right now, all eyes are on the infamous ETH/BTC chart and the persistent weakness in BTC dominance. If ETH/BTC breaks out, expect ETH beta tokens like LDO, AAVE, CRV, and others to skyrocket even faster. For memes, focus on Ethereum’s PEPE and MOG, which are looking particularly strong. And don’t forget to check the market cap disparity between dog coins and cat coins—we’ve got a lot of catching up to do.

On a broader note, the DXY is showing signs of topping out after a significant run-up over the past month. And we all know what happens to risk assets when the dollar weakens.

AI Corner

The AI agent space ran hard in December, but has had a little pullback since the new year, with dominant projects like AI16Z and Virtuals both retracing about 30%. Currently, the total market cap for the sector is around $16 billion. 

If we have a medium-term future where a significant to majority percentage of on-chain activity is agent-derived, then surely this number needs to be way higher. Memes are currently at 7x the agent meta market cap. This includes not only agents but all the infra, swarm protocols, and the rest.

Currently, my general approach to the space is to watch out for frothy entrants. By that, I mean either vaporware, grifters, or projects that raise so much early capital that it becomes difficult to focus on the task at hand. This age-old bull market dilemma goes back to the dawn of ICOs. Tl;dr: I prefer to leverage up on technical integrity at the lows (AI16Z, Virtuals) than bid every single new entrant. 

Degen plays are still big printers, though, but you need to catch the right tickers early and then do your due diligence as the number goes up to see where it makes sense to exit.
