💎 Ethereum > Solana Vibe Shift?

GM, I can’t believe it’s been only three days since I last spoke to you.

There’s no doubt—we’re part of the most entertaining industry in human history.

This weekend, we witnessed the largest rug-pull in history—courtesy of none other than Argentine President Javier Milei. Well, to be precise, LIBRA was deployed by Kelsier Ventures, headed by a guy with arguably the weirdest body-to-head size ratio ever seen, Hayden.

If you wish to know every detail, listen to his Coffeezilla interview, where he casually confesses to every financial crime imaginable. Safe to say, things won’t end up well for this dude, and even Javier has his hands full now with lawyers already going after him, and the Argentinian stock index falling 5.7% as a result.

The stock index is obviously not the only asset reacting to this mess. Solana is now also dumping, with SOL/ETH falling over 8% just today. It seems like the market has had enough of the trenches and insider scams. Plus, let’s not forget—massive SOL unlocks are coming on March 1st. 

Let’s hope this debacle finally leads to more focus on fundamentals and maybe even the whole 2025 led by ETH and other L1s. Ethereum is already the market leader today, and even though it typically means an upcoming massacre for the market, this time, there’s a really palpable shift.

Lastly, ETH might also benefit from the addition of staking into ETFs, which are being filed these days, and altcoins overall from the continued weakening of the dollar index. 

Lastly, it seems that the memecoin mania just came to an end. Does that mean the blue-chip ETH memes die as well? If Ethereum continues to strengthen from here and ETH/BTC bounces properly, I wouldn't be writing these off just yet.

CAKE/USDT 1W Binance

$BNB has seen some inflows since the latest Solana meme scandal. The CAKE chart has been supportive of a potential rotation thesis with some chunky volume bars in the past week. Now, we’ve seen scam pumps on CAKE before (see Q1 ‘24 above), but not with this amount of volume, reclaiming the key 50 RSI level, and with the weekly Awesome Oscillator flipping green.

The confluence of these three indicators is often a reliable breakout indicator. We need to hold the midrange at $2.48-ish for this to have legs to the range high at $4.
