The largest weekly Bitcoin candle was printed, and it’s no wonder. After all, the Crime season is still in full effect, so it’s to be expected that just after a Friday tariff news dump, a “mysterious” whale on Hyperliquid would open a $200m Sunday long, and finally, the White House would announce a U.S. Crypto Reserve shortly after. By the way, this is not speculation; Eric Trump literally confirmed the plan.
This past Sunday was especially huge for all the Uber drivers out there, as the Crypto Reserve announcement included XRP (which proceeded to flip ETH) and Cardano.
Today, it already seems like this news-driven move will unfortunately be retraced. So, where from here? Considering we’ve got a Crypto Summit coming up Friday, there might be another stab into $94k from here, but I wouldn’t bet the farm on it. Bitcoin is still in danger territory until it flips weekly above $95k—and SPX isn’t exactly helping the case either.
So, it’s probably wise to expect more violent chop until this eventually resolves higher, hopefully by the end of this month. Also, multiple macro data and events are coming up this week, meaning we’ll likely get whipped around some more.
This market is in a very high-difficulty mode right now, and even the best of the best are struggling to nail trades. It’s time to stay careful.

We had a crazy weekly close that fully retraced last week’s dump to $78k and filled a CME gap up at $94k. Let’s see if the Strategic Reserve news pump can stick into the Crypto Summit on 7 March. Now, tradfi markets are open—no more Sunday night, thin order books, illiquid pumps. We also have a new CME gap down to $84,650.
I opened a little long on the deviation below the reclaimed $91k range low - this was just after the US open - see above. I will close the trade if the 4-hour cannot close back in the range. We still need to hold that level, otherwise another trip back towards the recent lows is on the cards. Reclaim $91k and the yearly open is the next target for reclaim.

I think with March, we’re facing yet another treacherous month. That said, if BTC retests last week's lows (maybe even a bit above), holds there, and shows yet another strong reaction, it’s possible that this whole Q1 conundrum only prolongs the overall bull run, which we’re likely still in.
