Itβs the fifth day into December and we are still yet to see any significant move from Bitcoin and the overall crypto market. If anything, BTC seems stuck in a range, unable to break above $94k or below $84k.Β
Still, the industry is sprinting, and the past 24 hours delivered enough news to remind everyone to focus on fundamentals.
Letβs start with JPMorgan, which says Bitcoinβs next big move has less to do with miners and more to do with Strategy (MSTR), the world's largest BTC holder. The bank argues that if Strategy can keep its balance sheet solid and avoid selling BTC, the market has a path to stability.Β
They even said Strategyβs enterprise-value-to-Bitcoin ratio sitting above 1.0 is βencouraging,β because it signals little selling pressure ahead. Plus, the firmβs freshly built $1.44 billion cash reserve is enough to cover two years of dividends and interest, offering a breather. JPMorgan is basically saying if Strategy holds, Bitcoin holds.Β
On the flip side, the risk of MSCI booting MSTR from its indices seems βalready priced in,β with the stock down 40% since October. But if MSCI doesnβt exclude it? JPMorgan expects both Strategy and Bitcoin to rip right back to pre-October levels.
Meanwhile, prediction market giant Kalshi is busy becoming unavoidable on cable TV. After locking in a partnership with CNN earlier this week, the platform has now inked an exclusive deal with CNBC.Β
Starting next year, Kalshiβs real-time forecasting data will appear on shows like Squawk Box and Fast Money, making prediction markets a staple of mainstream financial reporting.Β
Over on the tech side, Coinbaseβs Base network made a huge interoperability leap, launching a Solana bridge powered by Chainlinkβs CCIP. This means Solana assets can now flow into the Base ecosystem, and Base users can send their assets into Solana apps.Β
The team calls it a step toward becoming a hub for βthe everything economy,β and with Solana integrations happening across crypto, Base planting its flag there feels like the L2 is positioning for bigger multi-chain ambitions.Β
Builders get more liquidity, users get more asset support, and developers get the flexibility of launching apps that can tap both ecosystems without friction.
Furthermore, the ETF season refuses to slow down. 21Shares has launched the first Sui-based ETF approved for trading in the US and itβs not just any ETF, but a 2x leveraged product called TXXS. The fund aims to offer double the daily returns of the Sui token, landing as the 74th crypto ETF released this year.
